ClearWater Express Car Wash has acquired Konny's Car Wash in Kaufman, Texas, adding what the company describes as its 94th location as it continues to expand across the state. The site officially joined the ClearWater Express brand on July 20, 2026, according to reporting from Professional Carwashing & Detailing.
The deal folds an existing single site into a growing regional operator, and ClearWater Express says customers will keep the familiar wash experience while gaining access to the brand's technology, service standards and unlimited wash club membership options.
What changes at the Kaufman site
ClearWater Express plans a series of improvements at the acquired location. The company outlined equipment upgrades, enhanced cleaning formulas and reworked complimentary vacuum zones intended to improve the customer experience. Those additions reflect a common pattern in car wash acquisitions, where a buyer retains an established site's customer base while retrofitting it to match brand standards.
To mark the transition, the company scheduled two public events. A ribbon cutting ceremony is set for August 13, 2026, held in partnership with the local chamber of commerce. A grand opening celebration follows on August 15, featuring promotions, community giveaways and introductory wash discounts for local drivers.
A company representative said the goal is to deliver a strong wash experience through site improvements while building relationships in the communities it serves. ClearWater Express also said it plans to support local schools, organizations and community events in Kaufman through ongoing partnerships and outreach.
A steady Texas rollout
Reaching 94 locations places ClearWater Express among the larger regional operators concentrating growth in a single state. Buying an existing wash rather than building new lets an operator move faster, inheriting an operating site, a location already known to local drivers, and in many cases a base of members who can be migrated to the new brand's subscription program.
The emphasis on converting the site to the company's unlimited wash club is notable. Membership programs remain the primary lever operators use to stabilize revenue, and acquisitions offer an immediate opportunity to enroll existing customers into recurring plans.
Why it matters for operators
Single site and small chain owners are increasingly the sellers in a market where regional players are consolidating through acquisition. The ClearWater Express deal shows the standard playbook: acquire an operating wash, keep it running for existing customers, then upgrade equipment, chemistry and vacuum areas to brand standards while pushing membership conversion.
For operators weighing whether to sell, the takeaway is that buyers value an established customer base and a functioning site, not just real estate. Clean financials, a healthy membership roster and well maintained equipment strengthen negotiating position.
For operators competing against a newly acquired branded site, expect a marketing push around the grand opening, including introductory discounts and community outreach designed to capture local drivers quickly. Independents in the area may need to sharpen their own membership offers and local partnerships to hold share during the transition period. Watching how quickly a new owner reopens with upgrades and promotions can also signal how aggressively that brand intends to grow in the region.
