ClearWater Express Wash has opened its 95th location in Leander, Texas, converting a site that previously operated as BB Shines Car Wash. According to reporting from Professional Carwashing & Detailing, the property reopened under the ClearWater brand last week.

The conversion adds to the combined presence of ClearWater Express Wash and its sister brand BlueWave Express Car Wash in the greater Austin area. The two brands continue to grow across Texas while sharing their membership programs and service standards.

A shared network across two brands

The Leander site operates as part of the combined ClearWater and BlueWave network, which lets customers use participating locations across both brands. Unlimited wash memberships are honored at both, giving members flexibility to wash at sites throughout the company's footprint rather than being tied to a single location.

That cross-brand acceptance is central to the company's growth strategy. Each new site widens the number of locations available to existing members and brings the service to new customers in the surrounding community. The company frames each opening as an opportunity to serve more drivers, create local jobs and build community ties.

Grand opening events in Leander

ClearWater plans two events to mark the opening. A ribbon-cutting ceremony is set for Nov. 6 at 1 p.m. in partnership with the Leander Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Center, aimed at connecting with local business and community leaders. A grand opening celebration follows on Nov. 7 from noon to 3 p.m., with the team inviting residents to tour the site, meet staff and experience the wash.

The company said additional promotions and activities will be announced on its social media channels ahead of the events. Beyond the opening, ClearWater said it intends to build relationships with local schools, businesses and organizations in Leander.

Why it matters for operators

The Leander opening is a conversion rather than a ground-up build, and that distinction carries practical lessons. Acquiring and rebranding an existing wash can shorten the path to revenue compared with new construction, though it requires integrating a former independent operation into a larger membership system and service standard. Operators weighing acquisition versus greenfield growth should watch how multi-site chains like ClearWater fold converted sites into their networks.

The cross-brand membership model is also worth noting. By honoring unlimited plans across both ClearWater and BlueWave locations, the company increases the perceived value of a membership and gives customers more reasons to stay subscribed. For independents competing against chains with dozens of sites, the convenience of a wide location network is a real differentiator that single-site operators cannot match on their own.

Finally, the community rollout shows how established players use local events to launch a site. A chamber of commerce ribbon-cutting and a public grand opening generate goodwill and foot traffic at minimal cost, a tactic any operator can replicate when entering a new market or reopening an acquired location.
