The New York State Car Wash Association will hold its fall membership meeting and bus tour on Thursday, October 29, pairing site visits to two recently renovated washes with a vote on its 2027 officer slate, according to reporting from Car Wash Business Center.

Registration is online only through the association website and costs $65 for members and $75 for non-members, with prepayment due by October 22. The day begins at 10:30 a.m. at G & G Industrial Lighting in Malta, New York, just off Exit 12 of the Northway, with a brief tour and lunch before the group heads out. Attendees are scheduled to return to G & G by 3:30 p.m.

Two renovation case studies on the itinerary

The tour stops at Spritz Car Wash at 1588 US9 in Halfmoon and Hoffman Car Wash in Loudonville, both chosen to show operators what major reinvestment in an existing site looks like.

The Spritz location in Halfmoon first opened in 2005. Earlier this year the company tore the site down, pulling out its older PDQ G65 units and installing new PDQ 360 Laserwash equipment. The project also added new walls, roofing, siding, lighting, and blacktop.

The Hoffman wash in Loudonville was once the shortest tunnel in that company's portfolio and has gone through several rebuilds. Its most recent overhaul added an AVW belt conveyor, InnovateIT equipment, and prepless washing. The source reports those changes drove an 88% increase in volume at the location.

The 2027 officer slate

Members will vote on a leadership lineup for next year. The proposed slate names Chris Kubarek of K & S Car Wash in Auburn as president, Mackenzie Weekes Wilock of Spritz Car Wash in Clifton Park as vice president, Christian King of KNC Holdings in Albany as treasurer, and Rob Peter of Synergy Solutions in Uniontown, Ohio, as secretary.

The proposed directors are Evan Baright of Foam & Wash in Poughkeepsie, Jake Collison of Simoniz USA in Bolton, Connecticut, Amanda Kubarek of K & S Car Wash in Auburn, and Stephen Weekes of Spritz Car Wash in Clifton Park.

More details are available on the association website, by phone at 518-280-4767, or by email to suzanne.stansbury@icloud.com.

Why it matters for operators

Site tours built around real renovations give operators something a trade show floor cannot: a close look at how an existing wash was torn down, re-equipped, and brought back online, along with the numbers behind the investment. The reported 88% volume jump at Hoffman's Loudonville location after adding a belt conveyor and prepless washing is a concrete reference point for anyone weighing a conveyor conversion or an equipment refresh on an aging site. The Spritz example shows a full exterior and equipment rebuild on a two-decade-old location, useful for operators deciding whether to renovate or relocate. Beyond the equipment lessons, the meeting is a chance to connect with the vendors and peers whose names fill the regional officer slate, and the modest registration fee and firm October 22 prepayment deadline make it an easy addition to a fall planning calendar.
