Sud Stop Car Wash has opened its newest express tunnel in Clermont, Florida, at 2100 US Highway 27, marking the 21st site for the growing operator and its 12th express wash in the state. The debut is anchored by aggressive membership promotions designed to convert grand-opening traffic into recurring subscribers.

According to a company announcement published by the International Carwash Association, the launch features free washes, giveaways, and limited-time offers on the chain's Founders Club unlimited plans. CEO Rob Consalvo framed the opening around speed, affordability, and tunnel technology.

The membership play

The centerpiece of the Clermont opening is a founding-member pricing structure built to lock in long-term subscribers early. New members can sign up for any membership tier, including the top-level SignatureSud Wash, for $9.98 in the first month. Beyond that introductory rate, Founders Club members can secure a $29.98 monthly rate for life on the SignatureSud Wash, which the company says represents a permanent $10 savings versus regular pricing for as long as the account stays active, subject to program terms.

Multiple-vehicle options, including Fleet and Family plans, are available in-store. New visitors who sign up for text updates on the company website can also claim a free wash valued at $29.

The tunnel itself delivers a wash in under four minutes and offers cycles for bug removal, tire shine, rain repellent, surface protection, and drying. Members use automated license plate recognition to bypass standard lanes. Free self-service amenities include dual-hose vacuums, microfiber towels, interior cleaners, automated mat washers, and compressed air tools. The company also promotes pH-balanced products and water filtration systems that reduce water use compared with home washing.

A storage-backed operator

Sud Stop is based in Winter Garden, Florida, and operates as part of the Real Capital Partners family of companies, which also includes Store Space Self Storage and Storage 360. That parent structure ties the wash brand to an operator with experience scaling recurring-revenue retail real estate, a background that aligns closely with the membership-driven express wash model.

Why it matters for operators

Sud Stop's Clermont launch is a clear example of how express chains are treating grand openings as membership acquisition events rather than simple wash-volume drivers. The $9.98 first month lowers the barrier to trial, while the lifetime rate lock is engineered to reduce future churn by giving early subscribers a reason never to cancel. For operators, the lifetime rate lock is a double-edged tactic: it can rapidly build a loyal base at a new site, but it permanently caps revenue per member and can complicate future price increases as costs rise.

The tie-in to a self-storage parent company is also worth noting. Both storage and unlimited wash memberships depend on the same economics of predictable monthly recurring revenue and low incremental servicing cost, and operators watching consolidation should expect more crossover from adjacent recurring-revenue industries. Finally, the free-wash-for-text-signup mechanic remains a low-cost way to build an owned marketing channel, a tactic single-site operators can replicate without a large ad budget.
