Tidal Wave Auto Spa has opened a new express carwash in Hendersonville, North Carolina, its 24th location in the state. The site sits at 2549 Chimney Rock Rd. and now serves the Hendersonville and Henderson County area, according to reporting from Professional Carwashing & Detailing.

The Thomaston, Georgia-based operator runs 323 express wash locations across the United States. Beyond the Hendersonville opening, the company has additional North Carolina sites planned this year in Asheville and Hickory, plus a location in Indian Land, South Carolina. A Brevard, North Carolina, site is already operating nearby, and an Asheville location is listed as coming soon.

Opening promotions and membership offer

To mark the grand opening, the Hendersonville location is offering free premium washes through Aug. 16. The promotion covers the company's top wash option, the Graph-X4 plus Super Shammy package, at no charge. Single wash options at Tidal Wave start at $15, and the chain also sells unlimited memberships, family plans, and fleet plans.

Alongside the free washes, Tidal Wave is running its Founders Club offer during the celebration. New customers who sign up receive $10 off each month for a full year, a total savings of up to $140. CEO and founder Scott Blackstock said the offer lets early members lock in savings while the company establishes itself in what he called the Chimney Rock corridor.

Charity tie-in on Giveback Day

The company scheduled a Giveback Day for Tuesday, Aug. 11, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. During that window, Tidal Wave will donate $1 for every free wash and $5 for every new Clean Club membership to The Hope Center of Hendersonville. The Hope Center runs a day program for adults 18 and older with intellectual and developmental disabilities, providing activities, social connection, and growth opportunities.

Tidal Wave says it has donated more than $8 million to charitable organizations nationwide. Blackstock framed the local partnership as the kind of community investment the company aims to make in every market it enters.

Why it matters for operators

Tidal Wave's Hendersonville opening shows how a large chain uses a consistent playbook to enter new markets: a limited window of free premium washes to drive trial, a discounted membership offer to convert those first-time visitors into recurring revenue, and a local charity event to build goodwill on day one. The Founders Club structure is worth studying. By tying a fixed monthly discount to early sign-ups, the operator captures members during the highest-traffic period of a new site's life and locks them into a year-long relationship.

The clustering strategy is also instructive. With Brevard already open and Asheville and Hickory in the pipeline, Tidal Wave is building density in western North Carolina rather than scattering sites. Density supports brand recognition, shared marketing, and easier membership transfers between locations, all of which strengthen retention. Operators weighing expansion can take note of how free-wash promotions, membership incentives, and community fundraising can be bundled into a single grand-opening event that serves acquisition, conversion, and reputation goals at once.
