Tidal Wave Auto Spa has added another location in South Carolina, opening a conveyor car wash in Indian Land at 4138 Dobys Bridge Rd. The site is the company's 27th in the state, according to reporting from Professional Carwashing & Detailing.

The opening lifts the chain, described as the fifth-largest conveyor car wash company in the country, to 331 conveyor locations spread across 30 states. The company said additional expansion is planned across the region this year.

Grand opening offers

To mark the launch, the Indian Land wash is running 12 days of free premium washes through Sept. 20, giving customers the company's Graph-X4 plus Super Shammy package at no charge. Tidal Wave is also extending its Founders Club membership deal through the same date. On the top three wash plans, new members pay $10 for the first month and then receive $10 off each month for the following 12 months.

Single wash options at the location start at $15. The company sells unlimited memberships, family plans, and fleet plans for business customers.

Community fundraiser

Tidal Wave scheduled a Giveback Day on Thursday, Sept. 17, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. For each free wash redeemed and each new Clean Club membership purchased that day, the company will donate $1 and $5 respectively to the YMCA of Upper Palmetto, which runs programs and services for the surrounding community.

CEO and founder Scott Blackstock tied the opening to the area's growth and the brand's community focus, calling Indian Land "the perfect fit for our brand." The nearest existing Tidal Wave site sits at 531 Theydon Bend in Fort Mill, South Carolina.

Why it matters for operators

Tidal Wave's Indian Land opening is a useful case study in how large chains layer promotions and community outreach onto a single grand opening. The free wash window, the discounted membership runway, and the charity tie-in all serve one goal: converting first-time visitors into recurring subscription members before the introductory offers expire.

The Founders Club structure is worth studying. By pairing a $10 first month with a year of $10 monthly discounts, Tidal Wave lowers the barrier to sign-up while locking in a long relationship that stretches well past the free wash period. Operators launching new sites can borrow the sequencing: free washes to drive trial, then an immediate, time-boxed membership offer to capture the traffic those free washes generate.

The density strategy also stands out. With 27 sites in South Carolina and a new location placed near an existing Fort Mill wash, Tidal Wave is clustering stores in a fast-growing corridor rather than spreading thin. For independents competing against that kind of footprint, the community fundraiser is a reminder that local goodwill remains a differentiator larger chains are actively pursuing too.
