WOW Carwash is opening its 20th location this week in the southwest Las Vegas valley, at Blue Diamond Road and Durango Drive, marking a significant growth milestone for the operator that opened its first site in 2017. According to reporting from Professional Carwashing & Detailing, the chain will celebrate the new 9280 S. Durango Dr. site with a series of promotional and community events.

The company is leaning heavily on free washes and local partnerships to drive traffic during the launch. Free carwashes will be offered at the new location for a limited time beginning Friday, Aug. 14.

A multiday opening built around community events

The grand opening runs across two days. Friday, Aug. 14 from 6 to 8 p.m. features a kids' night with a balloon artist, free WOW bubble wands and treats from a Kona Ice truck. Saturday, Aug. 15 stretches across 12 hours from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. with music, giveaways and appearances tied to local sports brands.

The first 50 vehicles to arrive Saturday morning will receive one free month of WOW MAX washes, one per vehicle. The day includes free coffee, a live radio remote, appearances from the Vegas Golden Knights mascot, esports activities from Las Vegas Inferno, free food and lemonade from Chick-fil-A, and a photo booth. Raffles will run throughout, including a chance for one guest to win free washes for a year.

The operator is also using the event to convert visitors into members. Guests who sign up onsite for a new annual membership during the event will pay $9.99 a month for the first three months.

Local roots and charitable tie-in

Co-founder Todd Bender framed the milestone around the company's Las Vegas origins and its team. "We are not done yet," he said, describing the business as a Vegas-born, community-dedicated brand. To mark the opening, WOW Carwash will donate $1,000 to the Paralyzed Veterans of America Nevada Chapter.

Why it matters for operators

WOW Carwash's playbook offers a practical template for operators launching a new site. The chain is pairing a free wash period with a hard membership offer, using the giveaway to build initial traffic while the discounted three-month rate captures recurring revenue from the crowd that shows up. That two-step approach addresses the central challenge of any new wash: filling the tunnel early and converting first-time visitors into subscribers before the novelty fades.

The event structure is also worth noting. Rather than a single ribbon-cutting, WOW built a two-day schedule stacked with hourly attractions, food partners and local sports tie-ins that give families reasons to stay and return. Partnerships with recognizable regional brands, from professional teams to well-known food vendors, extend the reach of the opening beyond the wash's own marketing channels at little apparent cost.

The charitable donation and community messaging reinforce a local identity that larger national competitors can struggle to match. For independent and regional operators, positioning a new location as part of the community fabric, backed by a concrete donation, can be a durable differentiator in markets crowded with express washes.
