LUV Car Wash has purchased three carwash locations in Southern California, pushing its Los Angeles footprint to 20 sites and reinforcing its position as one of the region's larger express operators. The deal was announced this week, according to reporting from Professional Carwashing & Detailing.

The acquired locations are Vermont Handwash at 1666 N Vermont Ave. in Los Angeles, American Express Car Wash at 2345 Crenshaw Blvd. in Los Angeles, and Century Car Wash at 4700 W Century Blvd. in Inglewood. All three had been operated by families before the sale.

The deal and planned upgrades

CEO Darren Skarecky framed the milestone around both customer reach and seller relationships, saying Southern California remains a strong growth market for the company. He pointed to a transparent acquisition process as a selling point for owners weighing an exit.

Sellers cited that experience as central to their decision. Benny Pirian of Vermont Handwash, whose family ran the site for more than fifteen years, said LUV "kept every promise they made." Gaby Jabbour of American Express Car Wash noted the company had fielded multiple offers over the years but trusted the LUV team to follow through. Shadi Emein of Century Car Wash pointed to the buyer's reputation in the local market as a deciding factor.

LUV plans to renovate all three sites in the coming months. The company said improvements will include upgraded tunnel equipment, new wash technology, refreshed branding, enhanced amenities and operational changes aimed at improving wash quality and speed.

A larger regional network

With 20 locations across the Los Angeles area, LUV operates one of the largest express carwash networks in the market. The company said its sites offer complimentary high-powered vacuums, premium chemicals and a consistent guest experience across the network. It framed continued acquisitions as part of a broader push across Southern California, positioning itself to both existing customers and future selling partners.

Why it matters for operators

This deal is a snapshot of how consolidation is playing out in dense urban markets. LUV is not just adding site count, it is buying established, family-run operations with existing customer bases and then upgrading them to a common brand and equipment standard. For independent operators, that pattern signals where buyer interest is concentrated: locations that fit neatly into an existing regional cluster.

The seller commentary is worth noting for owners considering an exit. All three sellers emphasized trust and follow-through over price alone, suggesting that reputation and a clear, unhurried acquisition process can influence which buyer wins a deal in a competitive market. Operators fielding acquisition interest should weigh how a buyer handles the process, communicates through each step, and honors commitments, not just the headline offer.

For operators competing against a growing chain, the planned upgrades are the real competitive threat. Refreshed equipment, faster throughput and consistent branding across 20 nearby sites raise the baseline that independents must meet on wash quality, speed and amenities to hold onto members and retail traffic.
